Understanding the Affordable Care Act
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) created the Health Insurance Marketplace, where individuals and families can compare private health plans, check if they qualify for financial help, and enroll in coverage that meets essential health benefit standards. Each year, the main Open Enrollment Period runs from November 1 through January 15, but many families qualify for help all year long. Jolly Coverage helps you understand your options, compare plans across the metal tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum), estimate your monthly cost, and enroll in the plan that makes sense for your health and your wallet.
Bronze
Lightest coverage with the lowest monthly premiums. Best if you want protection from worst-case scenarios and are comfortable with higher deductibles.
Silver
Balanced option with moderate premiums and cost-sharing. Most popular tier, especially if you qualify for Cost-Sharing Reductions (CSR) that lower deductibles and copays.
Gold
Higher monthly premiums with lower deductibles and out-of-pocket costs. Good for families who use their coverage more often and prefer predictable costs.
Platinum
Highest level of coverage with the lowest out-of-pocket costs. Best for people who expect frequent medical care and want maximum protection.

Did You Miss Open Enrollment?
Even if the Open Enrollment Period has ended, you may still qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if you experience certain life events. Esto significa que podrías inscribirte o cambiar de plan fuera de las fechas regulares cuando tu vida cambia.
Lost job or coverage
If you lose employer coverage or other qualifying health insurance, you may be able to enroll in a new plan.
Got married or divorced
Changes in your household size can open a new enrollment window.
Had a baby or adopted
New dependents usually qualify you for a SEP so your child can be covered from day one.
Moved to a new state
Moving into or within Florida can trigger a new opportunity to enroll.
Income change
A significant change in your household income can affect your subsidy eligibility.
Turned 26 (aged off parents' plan)
When you age out of a parent's coverage, you can enroll in your own plan.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE · AYUDA FINANCIERA
You May Qualify for $0 Premiums
Many families in South Florida qualify for federal financial help that can lower their monthly health insurance costs. Premium Tax Credits (also called Advance Premium Tax Credits or APTC) reduce what you pay each month, based on your estimated annual income and household size. Cost-Sharing Reductions (CSR) are extra savings available on Silver plans that lower your deductible, copays, and out-of-pocket maximum.
In general, households between about 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (and in some cases above) may qualify for these subsidies. Yoly will review your situation, calculate your potential savings, and help you apply the credits directly to your monthly premium — all at no cost to you. Ella se encarga de los detalles para que tú te enfoques en tu familia.

FAQ · PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ACA?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a federal law that expanded access to health insurance, created the Health Insurance Marketplace, and set rules for what individual and family plans must cover. ACA plans include essential health benefits like preventive care, emergency services, maternity care, mental health services, and more.
When can I enroll?
You can enroll in an ACA Marketplace plan during the Open Enrollment Period, which typically runs from November 1 through January 15. Outside of that window, you may be able to enroll if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a life event such as losing coverage, moving, getting married, or having a baby.
Do I qualify for subsidies?
Subsidies are based on your household size, estimated annual income, and where you live. Many individuals and families between about 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level qualify for Premium Tax Credits, and some qualify for additional Cost-Sharing Reductions on Silver plans. Yoly will review your details and let you know what financial help you may be eligible for.
What if I miss Open Enrollment?
If you miss Open Enrollment, you may still have options. You could qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or in some cases a short-term plan. Jolly Coverage will help you review your situation and explain the paths that may be available to you.
Can I keep my doctor?
Whether you can keep your current doctor depends on the plan’s provider network. Before you enroll, Yoly will help you check which plans include your preferred doctors and hospitals so you can choose coverage that aligns with your care team whenever possible.
Is your service free?
Yes. There is no additional cost to work with Jolly Coverage. As a licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent, Yoly is compensated by the insurance carriers, not by you. You receive personalized, bilingual guidance at no extra charge.
